AstraZeneca Website

AstraZeneca are a global biopharmaceutical business that develop drugs that help millions of people across the world. The fully responsive website has been a really great learning experience for me as I’ve developed an excellent set of tools to aid responsive development and nurture my overall development workflow. The core tools used are Grunt for task automation, Sass for CSS pre-processor and the excellent Browserify for bundling up all the JavaScript.

A core set of modules have been created and integrated into AEM, each developed independently, before being introduced to an individual page context. Due to the very modular nature of the build I decided to used the BEM CSS methodology for isolated CSS into separate components. This has worked extremely well, although I do admit it isn’t exactly pleasing on the eye!

The site is in constant development with regular refinements and releases. This release process is all helped by using the full Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Stash), allowing seamless tracking of issues and improvements from realisation to the final release to the live website.

The website / platform has won the following awards:

  • Client: AstraZeneca
  • Media: Website
  • Technology: Sass, Singularity, Breakpoint, Browserify, jQuery, Modernizer, Grunt, BrowserSync, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Sector: Pharmaceutical
